PI-e2 AwardsScottish Software Awards 2007 On 23rd November 2007, PI Energy & Emissions came runner up in the Scottish Software Awards 2007 in the category "Best Software Product" (sponsored by Microsoft) for our Emissions and Greenhouse Gas Forecaster. www.scottishsoftwareawards.co.uk/awards/about.asp SMART Award In 2005, PI Energy and Emissions won a SMART Award for the development of Energy and Emissions Tracking software. The software monitors the energy usage, wastage and emissions of individual equipment or a processing plant/asset using accurate mathematical models, which properly model the equipment characteristics (as opposed to others who simply use generic factors). The applications are web based to facilitate remote monitoring, thereby allowing analysis and optimisation. The development of this technology will allows users in the oil and gas sector to understand for the first time, the true cost of running major equipment inefficiently. The adoption of this technique will also aid operator's compliance with the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) standards. Overall, the product enables them to improve plant performance using less power, reducing emissions and saving money. www.scotland.gov.uk/News/Releases/2005/02/07101043
